Family Weekend 🙂

How exciting! My cousin has won the Bemz competitions A birds Tale for the United Kingdom! So proud! A family full of career driven woman! Who run the world 😉

I met up with Nilufar and went along to the Edinburgh Meadows Festival, Edinburgh.

I came a cross the poster for the Meadows Festival on the Facebook page ‘Edinburgh Spotlight;

The Festival was a free entry two day weekend event on the 7^th and 8^th of June. The meadows in located in the central area in Edinburgh, easy access and next to the Bruntsfield Links. I love going for walks around the meadows as it reminds me of my youth as my high school is local to the meadows.

There was a lot going on at the Festival as they had a number of stalls around the two stage areas. There were scheduled musicians which one even played my all time favourite song by Kanye West- Gold-digger (made my day!). This child friendly festival even has a number of Kids activities for children. Unfortunately the weather took a turn for the worse and started raining heavily 😦 so we ended up going for desert at favourite 🙂 http://instagram.com/p/o8qUEBjlo7/

The following day Sunday the 8^th I went along to a Craft Fair at Ocean Terminal, Edinburgh to support a family friend. Humera is the owner of Exquisitely Beautyful a cupcake, craft and henna company. Exquisitely Beautyful also had a stall during the Edinburgh Charity Ladies Night.

The Craft Fair was in aid of The Yard- a charity Organisation. The stalls were all independent boutiques which were selling jewellery, cosmetics, bags and accessories, paintings, baby wear and handmade craft designs.

Hey Little lovelies!

I’ve been a bit of a busy bee! Went down to London for a few days for my big sisters surprise baby shower! I have also been working harder than usual as my writing will be featured in a International magazine!! July 2014!

AND Not long till my graduation ceremony!! Been stressing about my outfit theme :(…. Hopefully post a blog on the Graduation Ball and the Graduation Ceremony.

I was invited along to this exclusive Cocktail Master class on the 12th May 2014 hosted by Filling Station, Edinburgh Omni!

The event was an invite only gathering for lifestyle bloggers, photographers, food critics and Edinburgh reviewers.

The event was a networking opportunity and to create a buzz around the new refurbished store in the Edinburgh Royal Mile. Me and the other attendees also got invited along to the VIP Exclusive re-launch event later this week, which will be held at the refurbished store.

I was welcomed in by Lauren who does the PR for Filling station, also an Events Graduate from Napier University, Edinburgh! Yay! Team Events!!. I also met Gillian who is the marketing head for Coast to Coast, which works up and down the country from Inverness to Portsmouth.

The cocktail master class was hosted by Andy Pearson a Drinks development who has changed the drinks and cocktail culture in his 15 years in the industry. The event was also hosted by Radio Heart presenter Paul Harper.

This interaction gathering had free snacks and cocktails/mocktails for all attendees. The new salted pretzels on the menu are to die for!! So Yummy!

Filling station Coast to Coast is an American Restaurant bar. The atmosphere is created by playing classic American soundtracks and the retro décor. In total there are 7 Filling stations in Scotland and 3 in Edinburgh.

Andy Pearson demonstrated a number of cocktail making- The group even invented there own cocktail called ‘The EdinburghHandbag’.

Betty’s Boutique- Secret Pop up

Hey lovelies!!

I was invited along to this cute secret pop up shop on the weekend. Me and Coco (Fashion Blogger) met Maeve the co-found of Betty’s Boutique during Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair.

Betty’s Boutique is a Secret Pop-Up shop specialising in good quality Retro and Vintage clothing and nick-naks.

We will also be exhibiting oil paintings and prints by Artist Maeve O’Loughlin whose work is inspired by Retro Fashion.

The shop will be open Saturday & Sunday and throughout the day there will be a Tea Party with Soulful Tunes and Fancy Cupcakes.

Saturday night the shop will be transformed and they’ll be an underground private party

The vintage pop up boutique was a two day Saturday and Sunday event from 10am-7pm with an evening party.

The Pop up shop was located at the top of Leith Walk, Edinburgh. Leith walk is an accessible locations, 5 minutes away from Edinburgh Waverly Train Station and has access to a number of central bus routes.

It was clear to see Bonny and Maeve the founders of Betty’s Boutique had put a lot of time and effort to decorate the vintage theme of the underground shop space. The founders have a great ying and yang bound together as vintage fashion lovers, Bonny vintage fashion and events experience and Maeve an upcoming artist.

Before the Event Bonny and Maeve ensured they keep the customer’s interested by posting images from Maeve’s paintings and marketing the tickets for the after party. The events page on Facebook had great comments from the audience about the paintings. Maeve’s art creations were displayed for customers to buy. So quirky and unique!Facebook comments such as –

SO wish I could be in Edinburgh this weekend to come to Betty’s boutique!

The mouth watering cupcakes were made by Josie Lancaster. My Instagram post of the cupcakes got a lot of attention from my followers (Yum!).

With music playing in the background and all shoppers genuinely interested in the items, I say what a great job with marketing and promoting awareness for the secret pop up!

I hope to see more from Betty’s Boutique! With the idea only 6 weeks old I believe the founders are doing great! Keep it up!

Hey beautiful readers!!! Excited to post this blog! Follow up from Charity Fashion Show.

Just to keep my readers informed I’ve got myself a bloglovin account! I love this concept as it connects all bloggers from different sites ie WordPress, Blogger and Tumblr.

As you might be able to tell I love fashion, styling and beauty! As I’m not a fashion blogger I don’t focus on fashion and beauty. I want to keep my blog primarily on Events as I mentioned on my ‘Abouts’ section. I believe Events blogging is a niche in the market. So for the Fashion, Styling and beauty side of things I’ve created a Facebook Like page. This involves regular interaction with my followers, giving shout outs to talented people in Scotland ie other bloggers, designers, boutiques, brands, events, company’s ect. I want to also post a mood board for my outfit for a particular event, outfits/style I am inspired by and lookbook from local street stylist and celebrities.

I had a vintage themed weekend! With the Vintage Glamour Charity Fashion Show on Saturday Evening and Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair on Sunday.

Pre Event

As an invited blogger I helped promote the Fashion show for Cancer Research. I used my networkings experience and advertised the event poster through my social networking sites. I felt as an Events Blogger it is as important to not only market the event but also to share charity awareness. I shared the The latest Cancer Research commercial available on Youtube Cancer Research 2014.

To help create a buzz, I also created a mood board with the concept around my outfit, the Charity Fashion Show was themed around Vintage Glamour! This image alone got 568 views on facebook and over 30 likes on my Instagram.

Fashion Show

As you walked into the event there was plenty of entertainment all round! There was a bagpiper playing outside and a Harp playing beautifully inside the venue! Attendees were given a warm welcome from supportive friends and family of Lauren.

Before the show started I got exclusive access to behind the scenes. We got the opportunity to network with the designers, Models, Egg Hair and Body (Make up and Hair Stylist), the organisers and the photographer.

It’s great to hear how close a connection the Fashion Events industry is in Scotland. Alison the owner of Red Carpet Luxury Dresses was part of the Edinburgh Metropolitan Fashion Show 2013 (Year previous to Edinburgh Metropolitan Fashion show 2014). And also Monika Wiktorowicz a model I’ve worked with a number of times now.

The designers were Pan Pan Bridal, 21st Century Kilts, Bustle Boitique, Those were the days Vinatge and Red Carpet Luxury Dresses and Psychomoda.

There was 4 very handsome male models who were modelling the 21st Century Kilts. They were all athlete – ABC Fighter John Thain, Footballers from Queens Park Football club Grant Mosson, James Baty and Liam Gormley. I got the cheeky chance to sneak a photo with them all. The guys were great on the catwalk! James Baty even told me that he was more nervous doing this than before a game! But had a good laugh!

One of the event aspects that stood out for me was when the audience got the chance to engage with the event. By texting questions for the male models, these questions would pop up on the screen and you can ask anything! 😉

Extra event concepts was there was a musician singing live with a very 1950s feel of sound. A astonishing amount of great raffle prizes included Motel Brown goodies bags, Cheynes Hairdressing, Charlie Miller Hairdressing. The auction prizes was amazing! 2 x Tom Jones concert tickets, Canves painting of Hearts FC and Hibs FC, auctioned a boxing training session and even dinner dates with the models.

Post Event

Nicole The Fashion Blogger I attended the event with, has also been recognised for her unique style. She was in the style column in the Evening News!! Please check her fashion Blog on the Vintage Charity Show.

I loved dressing up for this Fashion show and loved the vintage glamour theme. We got positive feedback from attendees and via social network posts. I met and spoke to a lot of great personalities within the industry, I even met the representatives’ from Cancer Research and Shelter Scotland.

Lauren has done a great job and has made all her friends and family really proud! She looked gorgeous! Hair and Make up done by Egg Hair and Beauty

How exciting blogbees’!

I got invited along to a bloggers exclusive event :D! I met a bunch of amazing Scottish bloggers! I got invited along by Scott Harry Emery – a male fashion and lifestyle blogger from Glasgow, who is shortlisted for Company Magazine’s Style blogger award 2014! All the best Scott! Represent the power for Scotland!

The event was host by Crabtree & Evelyn-specialise in fine soaps from around the world. Located in the heart of Edinburgh, Hanover Street.

yay free products! Yum!

I was welcomed in by Lisa, the store manager who has been with Crabtree & Evelyn for 10 fantastic years! All 13 bloggers were welcomed with a soft drink, a cute cupcake and even a goodie bag! I heart free products!

As I started looking around the store I was kindly approached by Jamie Rockers– Social Media and PR manager for Crabtree & Evelyn. As I did not know anyone and was nervous, I was glad Jamie came over and even complimented my style and my online exclusive Michael Kors clutch (Birthday present from my sister!! Lucky Sultana!).

Jamie had mentioned she has done a few Bloggers events around the UK. And said bloggers events are more busier than customer events! Great work Jamie!

I was given this luxurious hand treatment by Fatima a sales assistant at the store. I was using the products from the Pomegranate, Argan & Grapeseed ranger which is one of the best sellers! I asked about the other products and Fatima told me about there Eau de Pearfum fragrances. These special fragrances were Harrods exclusive fragrances and were even in the top 6 best sellers!

All the bloggers were very approachable and we exchanged blog details! Yay new Instagrammar’s 🙂 I was surprised to find out not everyone has a business cards, which I advised would be a handy card to have at events like this. Alexandra had a discussion on Twitter asking other bloggers thoughts.

Overall I met some great people! And my hands feel so soft and girly (compared to my usual gym hands). I hope to see more bloggers exclusive events! As suggested previously bloggers events have much more a lasting affect than customer events. The trend hashtag for the evening was #crabtreehandytips which has been used on my Instagram uploads and tweets 🙂

They even have a food range! I Love!

Affortable Vintage

No Rest for the Wicked! From the evening before at the Charity Fashion Show then the next day at Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair. Not only did I get invited along to blog the event but I also manage to win a free ticket on Twitter via @edinbloggers. I never win anything!! What a fun day out! I had a friends BBQ after the fair and choose to wear a cute Coral Midi with strappy heals, my hair was still Kardashian wavy from the evening before. I kept my makeup light and simple to reflect how beautiful the weather in Edinburgh was. As the pre blog suggests- Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair, was located at the Assembly Rooms. I can’t believe how busy the Edinburgh Assembly Rooms was! There was a queuing system that let 10 people in at a time. This was a good health and safety aspect which was definitely appreciated as a Events Management student (I was responsible for Health & safety during Olymphusion). As we registered we got a warm welcome from Becca and the rest of the front of house team. Becca mentioned, she has been the Manager for Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair for two years now and has ran the Judy’s fair in a number of locations in Scotland. I have been to the Assembly rooms a number of times for Award Ceremony’s, Weddings, parties and during the Harvey Nichols Autumn Winter 2013 Fashion Show. I love this beautiful venue and its classy Victorian feel. Me and Nichole (Fashion Blogger buddy) thought of a plan on how we would network at this event. There was around 30 plus pop up stalls in the hall and alot of shoppers floating around. We came up with the plan of – first time around the hall we would browse and get a feel of the type of boutiques. Second time we speak to the stall owners and ask any questions and third time and the best time round would be for us as shoppers!!! 🙂 The stalls I spoke to: I bought this unique cute tea cup ring from Bunny’s Beads. Bunny has had Bunny’s Beads for 5 years now, I even complimented how neat and tidy her stall was. Vulture Culture – amazing vintage jewellery and broach’s! as the biggest broach collector, I loved this pop up stall! To our delightful surprise the vintage shirt Nicole was wearing was sold buy the lady we were speaking to! Va Va Vintage -sells all sorts of antique home-ware and jewellery. Amber the beautiful owner of Va Va Vintage has been selling antiques for 6 years now and buys her goods from auctions. Button Button @buttonbyhannah- is a unique custom made vintage design accessory stall. Sweets as Bag Designs by Shekinah – has been making custom made bags and clutches for two years now. These exclusive bags are currently told in Ladys Joe Joes and Studio 13 in Edinburgh. Vintage Remix by Alison George had these amazingly unique handmade business cards, which was made from old music scripts. As I got talking to Alison she had mentioned she will be part of this market in Waverly station, Edinburgh. Localmotive Markets is located on platform 2, every Friday from the 6th of June “We’ll have between 30 and 50 exhibitors and traders every week selling Scottish products including arts, crafts, clothes and accessories made by local designers,fresh and cooked Scottish produce, & ethically-sourced gifts. ” I hope to pop down to Edinburgh Wavely and have a browse at this unique idea.

I love vintage fairs! This was my First Judy’s Affordable Vintage Fair and my second after Loulous Vinatge Fair 2013. I love how you get the opportunity to bargain with the owners of the stalls! Fantastic turnout! and well done Edinburgh, one of the stall’s even said Edinburgh was more busy than on the previous day in Glasgow!

One of the shoppers said she had been attending Judy’s Vintage Fair for over 4/5 years now. And always recommends her friends. This is a great form of Word of Mouth Marketing for the Fair- as it shows visitors believe in the professionalism from the fair.

The stalls were displayed in a beautiful and professional manner.! The largest stall was the yummy cakes stand. J’adore who is a décor and food service company (also helped at the charity week fashion show) provide the amazing food for the attendees!

One of the main sponsors at this event was Sonique Sounds the only Asian female DJ in Scotland! You go girl! Who Run the world!!!

There was 3 catwalk productions throughout the day, I attended the 2nd one. Proud to see Edinburgh’s very own SKM Couture rocking the runway! And two of the models I’ve worked with before Stephanie Mcgovern and Urszula Prokop, the ladies worked professionally as always!

Nadim Saleem was the Fashion Choreographer at this event! Nadim is a well recognised events organiser within the Asian fashion industry! Please find his page and you’ll see a huge list of fashion productions he has choreographed. Before I started blogging I’ve attended a number of events he has produced! And what a talented man! Truly inspiring! I hope one day to be as recognised for my talent like Nadim.
I had the amazing opportunity to introduce myself to Nadim. Even as a busy man I watched him stop for photos with fans in the audience! Very humble and grateful! I hope to be part of Nadim’s upcoming projects! Exciting times and a huge step for me as a Events Assistant!!
