3 out of 3 blog post from Edinburgh International Fashion Festival
Lively, entertaining and typically sexually titillating – Racy
Edinburgh International Fashion Festival 2014 collaborated with CRAVE’s launch event on the 24th July for CRAVE present Racy. CRAVE is a new editorial and e-commerce website founder by Ruth Walker and Lynne McCrossan the two of the Judges from Edinburgh Metropolitan Fashion Show 2014.
I went along to one of the most secretive, hard to get ticketed fashion show I’ve ever come across in Edinburgh! Even by a number email to EIFF and CRAVE, it felt impossible to try and get an invite. Lucky for me I’m not the typical girl that waits for opportunities to fall into my lap. I somehow managed to charm my way in through my contacts and got invited by the most known designer Jacob Birge. So proud to say Jacob was a student in the Edinburgh College of art in my home town and is the winner from project runway Poland.
The secret location was on the roof top of the Ocean terminal Car park (one of Edinburgh main shopping centres). Invited attendees only found out on the day of the event by email. I felt this location was extremely risky as Edinburgh is known for its unpredictable weather.
The Fashion show theme was a very unique quirky never-been-seen style of show. Editor in Chief, Ruth Walker says: “this isn’t an ordinary fashion show, this is a bit different”.
As an event organiser I would say it was a photo shoot with audience interaction. The fast paste show was full of energy but hard to see the garments with the crowd jumping around. Being so petite its hard to see full stop 😉
All three designers were all different! There was Jacob Birge, Obscure Couture and Saunt & Sinner. Once the show was done models went to the roof top and modelled the designers clothing.
According to the Edinburgh Evening News Jacobs collection – The diffusion collection is very street in its aesthetic but still maintains a strong link to Jacob’s design ethos.
Obscure couture is a very funky creative out there designer, One of its kind in the current Fashion market.
‘Not just a label’ suggest Saunt & Sinner is a sleek and edgy brand that specialises in luxury woman-wear.
I met a few invited publishing personalities during the evening -Shauna McGregor a writer from Scot Campus and Oliver Norton a journalist from Capital press. I love meeting new people and hearing their thoughts and opinions.

Katarzyna Dragan took some amazing natural pictures from the event! Thanks for letting me share these images with my readers 🙂 A little gutted the Fashion Festival is over! Hopefully by next year we get to see more fashion shows and Scottish based designers. Till next year Edinburgh International Fashion Festival 😀
#Lookbook
I rarely wear colour as I like wearing black/lace as its so flattering and it makes me feel mysterious. So when I found this beautiful dipped hem, backless SS/13 lilac number with lace detail I fell in love! Such a beautiful dress/top from Miss Selfridge! You can dress it up or down! I obviously paired it with my Asos strap heals and Limited edition Michael Kors clutch 😀
Dream to Inspire ❤ ❤
