Article 2: MEHNDI BRIDAL LOOKBOOK by Sultana Malik
With South Asian weddings not only is the big day an important function, the pre-wedding celebrations such as the mehndi and Dolki night have as much importance to the bridal party. In the Scottish Wedding Directory Volume one we spoke about our favourite wedding themes lets mix and match looks to these themes.

Day garden party
Celebrity makeup artist Dress your face recreated a modern twist to a princess jasmine inspired look. This pastel theme compliments the overall vintage trend that the south Asian community have taken from the west. This floral fantasy look was perfected on lifestyle and fashion blogger and social light Roshini Daswani Kewalram.

Haldi
In a haldi ceremony the family & friends prepare the bride for the upcoming wedding. Traditionally a natural paste is applied on the bride to enhance the bride’s complexion. This is somewhat an ancient South Asian spa treatment. Haldi brides tend to display this event with natural makeup and hair styles. Displayed perfectly by TV actress Divyanka Tripathi.

Mehndi laga ke rakhna
One of our favourite themes that will never change is the Mehndi Emerald green tones. Old school Bollywood with Raj and Simran classic theme.
