Hello my beautiful lovelies 🙂
As you may know via my social networking I am in England spending time with my new baby niece! Yes my sister had a girl 🙂 (baby Rahman) say hi to my little princess baby Ariana Rahman ❤ ❤
Spending a full two weeks in London/Luton I thought I might as well utilise my time and attend a few events. I hope to post a blog about attending the red carpet for the Scottish Fashion Awards in London! and sharing my pictures from the London Mela 2014 festival.
Having such a big family as well as a huge extended family there’s always functions to attend like my 2nd cousin Jakia’s wedding celebrations. As you can see in my posts from Asian Weddings and Put a ring on it an insight on how Asian weddings are celebrated. Always celebrated with an amazing bright colour pallet with loads of bling! In this blog I will be sharing images from the Mehndi event and the wedding event. I will also be sharing my make-up check and lookbook 🙂
Mehndi
The Mehndi ceremony was held on Thursday the 4th of September 2014 at a local community centre close to the family home.
The bride
My cousin Jakia went with the traditional Bridal Mehndi Lookbook! Love it! Her face shape really suited the heavy eye make up complimented by the beautiful embroidered hair and jewellery pieces. Her hair represented a traditional long plait which was also used during my mums wedding in the 70s!
Decoration
There was a lot of hand-made decorations which was made by the brides sister inlaws, relatives and brought by the grooms party. My sister Shamy (new yummy mummy/my Twinnie ) is the owner of SBS Creations (https://www.facebook.com/sbs.carving) gave the family a fruit carving which is modelled by me 🙂 Big Smiley face 😀

You can see where I get my style and make up tips from 🙂 Yasmin and Shamy my two big sisters wore these lovely saree’s to the Mehndi! Make-up created by themselves! Yes ladies self taught! Dramatic and really compliments the outfits 😀

I had a totally mare of a time getting dressed for the Mehndi! As I was suppose to wear my sister Hassy’s red Eid outfit from Eid. But it was so small! I have more a wide frame than my little sister 😦 So luckily I brought a back up which is an outfit I wore during Eid 2013. My hair was originally in a middle parting but because of me stressing about my outfit I had ruined my hair so in the car journey from Luton to London I changed to a side parting 🙂 (Yay!!)

During the event we were given a pack of Bombay Mix, cupcakes, sweets and sweetie bags 🙂 Even sticks of juicy fruit 🙂 YUM!
Jakias and Raj Wedding
Venue
The wedding was held at The Royal Regency, London on the 9th September 2014. One of the best wedding venues I have been too! so beautiful! The high ceiling and the extravagant chandeliers. The layout was perfect! Sort of theatre setting where you look onto the main stage. Like majority of Asian weddings the bride side and grooms side is sat separately.
The food and decor was provided by the venue!
Starters: Chicken tikka, Samosas and Seekh kebab served with salad. Mint Sauce and chill sauce also avaialble
Mains: Meat curry, Vegtable curry, tarka daal, chicken curry with pilau rice or steamed rice. I kept my plate small by trying the Veg and daal with Pilau rice
Desert: Gulab Jamun and vanilla ice cream
Bride and Groom
Jakia and Raju looked great together! The stage area had a golden goddess theme which not only went with the bride and groom but also complimented Jakia’s direct family as her brothers wore a rich purple Asian men’s gown call – sherwani and ladies a purple and gold saree.

Lookbook
Both my big sisters’ wore the same saree design which looked amazing when they were sitting or walking together! The sarees had this beautiful antique detailing which looks great on Asian skin. Both styled differently which showed their own creative personalities ❤ This was not planned but I loved my cousin wore a white floor length gown also! Rumana’s dress had more embroidered work, the scarf was stunning which had this pink detailed design with really made the outfit ‘pop’.! Love it Rumana 😀
Fashionista
I wore this gorgeous white floor length gown. Which made me feel like an Asian Princess as it had a floaty flare 🙂 As you can tell I style by mixing my Asian roots with my western lifestyle. I wanted to keep it simple as possible (which is hard with asian garments) by not wearing a neck piece or bangles I wanted to enthuses the gown and my eye make-up (My sister made me wear earrings or I would have kept it simple).

Make-up check
As you know my blog concentrates on Event Management and organising of ‘events’. But I’m sure you can tell I love Fashion and beauty! As my Instagram followers will know I love posting a make-up selfie as well as a normal selfie ;). With a family history in Art&Design and creative work! And with me achieving a credit result in high school in Art and design I believe this is where my passion for make-up comes from. As I see playing with make-up is an Art form, Like painting a picture on a clear canvas.
I was a beauty consultant during my time at Boots the chemist where I do make-overs on customers and got given new products to review. In 2008/2009 I also worked as agency staff for a beauty consultant company where I would be called when beauty counters were short staffed. I have worked with brands such as Nars, YSL Sissy, lancome and Benefit cosmetics. I have also done close friends or family make-up for a special occasion such as birthdays.
For the wedding celebration events I used the Vice 2 make-up palette from Urban decay which I got from my beautiful cousin last year for my 24th birthday (Vice 3 is out during my birthday this year hint hint 😉 )
I love highlighting and contouring, even though I’m already blessed with high cheeks as per I love Kardashian make-up looks! I try my best to use as many minimal products as possible (Grown adult with teenage skin problems 😥 )
So I did a test with the top two eye primers in the market!
a) Urban Decay EyeShadow potion on the Mehndi
b) Mac Primer on the wedding
I originally bought the Urban Decay primer as my sisters swear by it and my favourite fashion and beauty blogger Carli Bybel uses the Mac primer (in a tube form). I can’t find the Mac primer on the MAC website but I bought mine in the Harvey Nichols Edinburgh Branch. I usually use the Mac primer when I attend parties or events and I’ve not tried the Eye shadow potion as I’m to scared to try something new on a big occasions.
So by the end of the evening during the Mehndi I had eye shadow creases using the Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer potion. Which wasn’t a great look. I used the Mac primer during the wedding I had no creases by the end of the evening!!
The difference between the two primers is Urban Decay have more of a sheer highlighting finish whilst Mac primer has a matte foundation finish. Another thing that might of caused the end result is the Mehndi event was held during the evening and the wedding service was during the day…So ladies I basically prefer the Mac primer 🙂 🙂

I am obsessed with Kylie Jenner ‘s big bold beautiful lips at the moment
